Cana Island Lighthouse
Cana Island Lighthouse is one of Door Countyโs most iconic maritime landmarks, constructed in 1869 and still serving as an active navigational aid. Visitors can cross a scenic causewayโsometimes by wagon, depending on water levelsโto explore the historic 89-foot tower, oil house, and keeperโs residence. The highlight is climbing the 97-step spiral staircase for panoramic views of Lake Michigan and the Door Peninsula. The islandโs rocky shoreline and shipwreck remains add to its allure, making it a must-visit for history buffs and sightseers alike.
