Curvy Road

The famously winding stretch of Highway 42 near Northport is one of Wisconsin’s most photographed roads. Designed in the 1930s with input from landscape architect Jens Jensen, its 15 dramatic curves were intended to preserve trees, slow traffic, and immerse travelers in the natural beauty of Door County’s northern tip—especially stunning in autumn.
